I'm addicted to Bath and Body Works Anti-Basterial Pocketbac. I am. I usually have three bottles handy all the time. I actually ran out of my favorites so I only have the Bath & Body Works Holiday Traditions Vanilla Bean Noel Pocketbac Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel. I haven't actually been using it because the scent is a little too strong for me so it's my last resort. I only use it to tide me over when I haven't been able to stock up.

I'm actually addicted to Sims. I started playing the first ever game a few years back and I've tried (mostly) all of the expansion packs. I'm now into the Sims Social on Facebook which, I swear, takes up much of my time and most of my life! Argh! Anyhow, these just caught my eye. Lawd, help me!

The Sims Medieval ($29.96)

I'm also currently addicted to CastleVille. I like medieval stuff better than farms or cities :p So out of all the new Sims, this one has got to be my favorite.

In addition to that, you can also get The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles ($29.96).

Another one that I'd like to try is The Sims 3: Generations ($34.99). Looks kinda fun!

I went to lunch with my friend yesterday and I spent a full day with her and her daughter who happens to be my goddaughter, an adorable, happy baby girl named Chloe whom I have fallen in love with. Anyway, we went to a toy store to browe for new toys, but Chloe fell asleep so Leah (my friend) and I were the ones who ended up enjoying ourselves. We took a walk down memory lane when we were kids and playing with Barbie dolls ourselves. Back then we only had simple Barbie dolls. There weren't a lot of choices but I remember having about four Barbie dolls and a small bagful of clothes for them. But the state-of-the-art thing about one of the dolls is that it comes with this nifty gadget that can curl and braid the doll's hair.

Anyway, I wandered down the aisles and sighed over some of the toys the toys could have. Like this Barbie Glam Vacation House ($32.95) which I couldn't believe! I mean, wow! It's a whole freaking house for your Barbie! Talk about a doll house. I mean, my place isn't half as nice as this.

Once in a while I get the urge to go swimming. Now, I'm not the thinnest tool in the shed (HA!) so it's a bit hard to choose the perfect swimsuit. I'm definitely not thin, and I'm a little... okay, a lot! Top heavy. And I'm too shy to be wearing some daring two-piece swim wear. I'd settle for a one-piece or a tankini. These are the options I'd go for, swim wear for full busted women like me.

Another pretty choice, the 10k White Gold Blue Topaz Pear Shaped Earrings w/ Diamond Accent. I totally love white gold and beautiful topaz, this pair of earrings is definitely a good choice for a classy piece.

It has a total gem carat of 3.46 carats, way, waaaay below Kim Kardashian's 20+ carat engagement ring, but then this isn't $2M. It's a reasonable ~~$199.00~~ $119.00. Really pretty. It will go well with a like-colored dress, or an LBD which will definitely make the earring pop out.

Let me start with this "Piedras" Purple Swarovski Crystal And Pearl Earrings which sells for $80.00. It's a pair of Swarovski crystals and purple pearl cabochon earrings in an antiqued filigree setting which looks pretty, feminine and classy. I love it.

I've been planning to get myself a leather (patent or whatever) bag because my bags, although cute and serviceable, aren't exactly up to looking like professional office bags (I have a blue Navy camo-printed bag which I love but looks silly if I wear a business suit). I have ~~wasted~~ enjoyed many an hour playing Sims on my desktop, laptop, now iPod Touch and Nokia phone. I love being able to do things in the game that I wouldn't be able to do in real live (like maybe be in the military or kick down a garbage can). Now, while window-shopping in Amazon, I found the latest release from Electronic Arts, The Sims Medieval - Limited Edition, which, IMO is absolutely awesome!

I love the medieval period. Knights, ladies, kingdoms, adventure and romance. I'd love being able to experience it without having to worry about indoor plumbing and hygiene. I think it's just so cool! I'd definitely love to try it.

Victoria's Secret Garden Strawberries and Champagne

While I love scents, my nose tends to choose which ones it likes. Some scents are good... so good they make my sinuses act up. Some scents give me hives, and some scents just trigger asthma attacks. Now, my friend Ching and I were at the 10th World Bazaar last week, having light retail therapy when I saw a stall selling Victoria's Secret Garden Collection scents. I have a bottle of Victoria's Secret Garden Love Spell Ultra Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream, and I like the scent, but I was looking for something else. I asked Ching who is pretty much an expert when it comes to Victoria's Secret Body Mists. She promptly said "Strawberries and Champagne". We looked for it through the racks but they lady at the counter said they were fresh out. Disappointed, I still kept the name in mind for the next time.

A couple of days ago, Ching and I went to the mall again, and this time, I remembered that I wanted to look for the scent and dragged her over to Gift Market. I said I wanted to try it and see if my nose will agree with her. We found a store that sells scents and I took a delicate sniff... and boy, did I find the perfect scent. To say I love it might just be an understatement because I also fell in love with it. It was sweet without being over-powering, delicate, subtly sexy... I bought a small bottle just to check if I could use it without triggering an allergy and it doesn't make my sensitive sinuses act up! Yay!

So how I'd love to receive any and all of these for Christmas.

Skechers Women's Shape-Ups

I haven't been diligent with my blog because I've been ~~procrastinating~~ busy with a lot of other things, other projects, other stuff to write. But since it's nearing the end of 2010 and it's that time of the year when my New Year's resolutions all come back to me, I'd like to take the last of 2010 trying to, at least, follow through with my resolutions.

Also, since Christmas is in a few days, I'd like to add to my Christmas list ^_^ Starting with these shoes.

My friend and I were waiting in line to get a cab the other day and I noticed this ad for Skechers, and fell for this pair, the Skechers Women's Shape Ups - Sleek Fit Fitness Mary Jane Sneaker. Didn't notice that they were "shape-ups" at first but because I thought they were cute. I haven't bought real shoes in a long time. I have tons and tons of flip-flops, sandals and a trusty pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Top Unbleached White Canvas Shoes with Extra Pair of Navy Laces, but those I bought more than a year ago. So I think it's just about time that I shop around for a new pair of shoes.

Anyhow, my first pair of Skechers were these simple black sneakers that were so comfy that I know that the brand would always be one of my favorites. I read the ad closely and realized that the shoes that I liked were shape-ups, or shoes that actually help you get fit while doing normal walking activities. I'm definitely not a gym rat and my only exercise is when I actually drag myself to the bike or when I go to the mall and walk from one end to the other on all floors... which is actually not a bad form of exercise because: 1) I walk, and 2) I'd be carrying a bag of groceries or my laptop with me. Both activities burn calories.

So, yes, if it will help me burn more calories than I do when I walk, then, heck, yes, I want a pair.

I have a love affair with accessories. I really do. I just can't get over the shiny, sparkly things. I love murano beads and glass, and this , apparently, dichroic glass.

My friend is asking me which ereader is the best to buy. I only use my iPod Touch as an ebook reader, and with Readdle, I'm pretty happy with it, but why not look at a Kindle or at a Sony Digital Reader?

I'm taking a look at the Sony Digital Reader for the simple fact that it comes in several colors other than white. HA! Sorry, I get attracted by the shiny stuff. (Ohhh, shiny!)

The Sony Digital Reader can display Adobe PDF files as well as text (.txt), RTF and Microsoft Word Files. Most (if not all) models have 512MB iternal memory and can hold around 350 ebooks.

While I love the Twilight Saga, I don't really like using Twilight-related merchandise. Back to my netbook obsession. I'm still inclined to get myself a netbook, but I'm also window-shopping around for thin and light netbooks. Then I stumbled across the Acer AOD250-1025. It's PURPLE.

My favorite color has changed from time to time but it only revolves around three colors: black, blue and purple. And this purple netbook looks absolutely pretty.

Acer is a very good brand for netbooks, laptops and computers. Their products are sturdy and reliable, and they wouldn't be one of the top netbook makers and sellers if that isn't the case. The purple Acer AOD250 is currently number 23 on Amazon's Top Sellers list in the netbook category.

The other day, I went to the mall to get myself a new pair of sunnies. I was going on a trip on an early morning flight and I wanted protection from the sun (at least for my eyes) when I make it to land. I wish I just went online instead. Then maybe I would have found this gorgeous Juicy Couture Black Malibu sunglasses with dark gray lens (~~$260.00~~ $125.00). Although the ones I bought were okay, this is beyond "okay", IMO. I like the shape of the lenses and the frame. And, it's Juicy Couture, darn it! What's not to like?

But I think I found my true love, sunnies-wise when I saw the other one: the Juicy Couture Black Ice Purple Malibu with Lavender Lens (~~$260.00~~ $125.00). It's just so chic! I absolutely <3 it.

Asus Eee PC 1005HA-P, 10.5 Hour Battery, Windows 7 Starter

I am not a girly girl, and I wish I could be sometimes, but I'm quite happy being right smack in the middle. I like crystals and bags, but I also like computers and gadgets. Right now, topping my ultimate wish list is a netbook. I'd like to say any netbook as they all have standard technical specs, but I have my heart set on an ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA-P (Black, Windows 7 Starter), the one that runs for 10.5 hours. The one with Windows 7 Starter. The one that costs ~~$399.00~~ $382.99. from Amazon.

Maybe you're asking, why a netbook? I like it for it's size. I love my laptop, but at 14" (or is it 15"?), it's just a little too big to lug around. Although I found out that it wasn't THAT bad if I have it in a backpack rather than a shoulder bag.

There are a lot of pros and cons when buying a netbook. They can be too small, too "delicate", too slow, too limited, etc. But I want one because I can slip it into my bag and lug it around without breaking my back. I don't need fancy software that takes loads of RAM or needs warp speed to function. I only need Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), a browser, iTunes and Internet connection. Okay, so maybe I could use a DVD drive, too, but I'm getting the netbook as a second machine anyway, something that I could bring about then come back home to my laptop.

Another concern with this though is the Windows 7 Starter. I do want to get my hands on a new Windows 7 machine, but Starter? You can't even change your desktop background with Windows 7 Starter, which means you have to shell out at least $107.16 to upgrade your Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium. Although... I have no idea if the 1005HA-P will be eligible to a free upgrade. I know... I think, that you will also have to purchase Microsoft Office separately unless you have already have a CD at home. The Microsoft Office Standard 2007 Full Version is available for $315.99 (Gah! It's almost as expensive as the freakin' netbook!).

Of course, I could also get the least expensive Asus Eee PC 1005HA-P with Windows XP instead, which is only ~~$389.99~~ $354.95... Or, I can get an Acer Aspire 4810TZ-4011 Timeline 14.0-Inch Laptop instead so I don't have to worry about it being a "netbook". Gah! Now I have to rethink my choices.

BAG REVIEW: JanSport All Points Backpack

I heart my backpack. I love backpacks in general, but I love my new Electric Purple JanSport All Points backpack specifically. I last used a backpack when I was in college, before I discovered the beauty of shoulder and girly bags which was why I was really excited when I went to the mall last week. I was going to get myself a backpack.

What I went over several brands of backpack before I considered buying a JanSport because 1) I like the color (electric purple); and 2) I like the design. I've never really been brand concious which is why its being JanSport wasn't a factor when I chose it (although the sales clerk who offered it to me MAY be a factor. Cutie, eh!).

On its virgin run, I packed my laptop, Ced, and his stuff (i.e. brick adapter, cables, etc.), and all my other every day essentials (i.e. things I deem I won't live without but I hardly use) into separate small bags, and stuffed them inside the backpack for a day at the "office", meaning Blenz Coffee at SM Megamall. The first thing I noticed is that a backpack made everything seem light. I have a big shoulder bag and Ced's own laptop bag which is also a shoulder bag, and the laptop just feels really heavy. With the backpack, it just feels really light.

Then I met one of my writer friends at Blenz where she gave me two boxes of brownies to go with the stuff I already have in the bag. Then I bought a book. Then I bought a huge bag of cat food. All of which I stuffed into the bag. It's heavier but it was still easy to carry. The straps are firm and padded which is why, even with the weight, you can carry it comfortably.

The outside of the bag is some sort of splash-proof (splash-, not water-proof) material, and the inside feels like leather, probably the vinyl. It has an outside pocket with several smaller pockets inside for pens. I specifically chose a backpack without a laptop pocket because the other backpacks (with laptop compartments) look too bulky or too big if it doesn't have anything else inside it.

Right now, I'm just really loving it, and I think it's worth the money I paid to buy it :)

While I was re-reading Nora Roberts' Three Fates, Cleo stole a Judith Leiber purse from Anita Gaye's closet. The first time I read it, I didn't have any clue what a Judith Leiber purse looks like. But since working on a bag blog, well, let's just say that Judith Leiber purses are not just purses. They're works of art.

I just remember reading about them so I went to JudithLeiber.com to window shop. Their gorgeous handbags cost up to the yin-yang. And I found this little handbag that looks more like an ornament than a bag.

The Echo handbag is a gorgeous pewter-toned dolphin minaudiere with hand-applied crystals with a snap closure on the top fin. It comes with a 19" chain and a box enclosure and protective signature bag.

I love dolphins, among other animals, and this looks more like a dolphin than a lot of other ornaments and figurines that I've seen. I just love how this bag looks like. The dolphin body, the crystals. I love the sparkle. If I get it, I'd just get it and display it, I'm sure, and not use it as a bag. I just couldn't resist putting it here on the blog because it's adorable. I had a lamp which looked exactly like it :D

Price is a little less than adorable though. It's a cool $4,995. Whew!

Croc Skin is In

I miss window shopping at Neiman Marcus, so I made my way over to the site to snoop and find what else they have instore for me to drool over. What I noticed is that crocodile skin seems to be in. Most of the new arrivals are made of scales.

I don't like crocodiles... they're scary, and the stuff monsters are made of. And I definitely wouldn't one on my arm. But I can't help but wonder... does a croc have to die so that someone can have a crocodile satchel for thousands of dollars? Hmm. Call me uneducated, but I have no idea... And while I don't like crocs, I hope they don't get killed for a bag.

Anyway, as I went on browsing, not only are crocodile skin bags in, looks like so are python skin bags. Looks like not my lucky week with Neiman Marcus.

Why do people spend so much money to carry scales on their arms? But, I guess, whatever floats your boat...

Chinese-Inspired Beauty from GoodOrient

I adore East Asian-inspired clothes. Chinese dresses, Japanese kimonos, etc. And, because they don't really look good on my body type, I try to use them as much as I can in the books I write. Also, there are quite a few shops that sell Chinese-inspired clothes here in Manila... or at least, those that I know of. The Internet is a different matter altogether.

Take Good Orient, for example, a cool store which sells in-house designed oriental clothing. I found gorgeous Chinese dresses, cheongsams, Japanese kimonos, robes and pajamas, the whole shebang! And what's more, they also have home decor and collectibles. After the clothes, I immediately went to their Gifts and Collectibles section and found adorable things that are perfect if you want a Chinese-inspired theme for your home. Our house has a subtle hint of that. I have a Chinese knot on my bedroom door and there's a scatter of laughing Buddhas about.

Take a look at this amazing Lin Daiyu & Jia Baoyu Dough Figurine ($28). Yes, it's made of dough, as in flour. And this is the representation of the Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet. There are more incredible dough figurines available at the Good Orient.

Dior Tie-Dyed Woven Medium Shopping Bag

I just came back from the beach, and, while I still have a bit of a beach hang-over, I did a quick sweep of online blogs and stores to see if there's something that would catch my eye. And, yes, there are definitely some new fish to fry... or at least, some new bags to ogle. Like the Dior Tie-Dyed Woven Medium Shopping Bag.

Pretty as a picture in a cool, blue tone, the Dior bag is made from beautifully woven leather, with leather-tipped chain straps, and the Dior hanging charm that I've always thought was especially made for girls whose name starts with a "D". Makes me feel extra special.

I love the color, the hanging charm, the weave, and the dimensions (14"W X 15"H X 4"D). Definitely big enough for my everyday essentials. You should see what I brought to the beach...

This bag also has the practical metal standing feet to support the bag if it gets too heavy for you to tote around. Although, be careful where you set it down. A bag this beautiful definitely grabs attention.

AND, it costs a whopping $2,300 from Saks Fifth Avenue. Who would want to let that bag out of your sight?

Juicy Couture Carmella Ankle-Wrap sandals

When I was dressing to go with a friend to a magazine launch, I realized that I had absolutely nothing to wear. We were going to a museum, to an exhibit, and I didn't want to dress up too casually or too... well, dressed up, but all my pants were in the wash, and I didn't want to wear a skirt. And I had no shoes. None. Nada.

I have three pairs of Chucks that are all screaming to be washed which is why they're stuck at the back of my closet, a pair of black office shoes, a pair of heeled sandals, and eight to ten pairs of flip-flops... that's it. I am in serious need of decent footwear.

So, I went online and tried to look for styles that would suit me and found this pair of comfy-looking Juicy Couture Carmella Ankle-Wrap sandals.

While I like the look of heels, I can't walk on them and get where I want to go (hence, the flip-flops). These sandals are the next best thing. At least, to Chucks. The Carmella Ankle-Wrap sandals (Gladiator shoes) come in orange or brown patent leather with goldtone hardware and straps that are linked through rings. The double-wrap ankle straps come with adjustable buckles to ensure a comfy fit. And, the covered heel? Well, it's just a half inch. Not much help on the height department, but at least I'm assured I won't fall and break my neck.

Will definitely go to the mall the next time and get myself a new pair of shoes/sandals.

Juicy Couture Peace Sign Logo Tote

As far as I'm concerned, backpacks are the perfect bags. But if you can't bring around a backpack, tote bags come at a close second, and I have a whim to collect tote bags. One quirky tote bag I wouldn't mind putting into my collection is the Juicy Couture Peace Sign Logo Tote. I think it's adowable and I just want to squish it and fill it with books, notebooks, and my everyday necessity.

It comes in deep brown with the words "Juicy Couture" fixed over and beneath a floral peace sign and has two interior pockets. I've always pointed out the importance of pockets to me (although maybe not here), and I do appreciate being able to jam my hand into a pocket and find my keys, coins or a pen. See? Very important.

The Juicy Couture Peace Sign Logo Tote, however, is available from Neiman Marcus for $78. I wonder if we have Juicy Couture here in Manila? Hmm. Oh, well. Maybe I could just go out to the mall and get a facsimile thereof.

Floral-Print Wedge and the d'Ete Printed Tote from Valentino

While researching for my work blog, I came across the Valentino collection at Neiman Marcus, and saw this pair that, had I been younger than I am now, I wouldn't find as interesting. I'm not saying the style is for old people, what I'm saying is that my tastes are vastly different than when I was younger.

The first one is the Valentino Floral-Print Wedge. I found the floral-print platform and wedge heel pretty. It's not my usual style, as I have never worn wedges in my life (and, I'm hoping to start soon), and if I do, I usually go for the solid colors, and definitely not for floral prints. I wish they had more pictures for this, though.

It's Italian-made, and it's Valentino, so a pair would cost you $895.00.

The other one is the multi-colored, floral-print taffeta Valentino d'Ete Printed Tote. I adore tote bags, and I do use them, and again, I usually go for the solid colors. But while the design reminds me of my grandmother's style, I like this. It does reminds me of one of my grandmother's expensive antique fans (which I lost, and cried over because it was genuinely from the 1800's).

Like the wedges, it's Italian-made, and Valentino. It's available for pre-order from Neiman Marcus for $1,595.00.

Review: Veet 5 Minute Hair Removal Cream

I vowed before that I'm only going to get waxed when I'm really depressed, or really desperate. But my legs really bother me, and I thought, before I decide to get waxed, I might as well try other (painless) options. I've been shaving since I was sixteen, and wasn't happy with it, so I figured it was time to use Veet.

So, I locked the bathroom door after telling everybody that I was going to take my time, turned on the music, and sat on the toilet. With concentration worthy of a Navy SEAL in combat, I read the box and the instructions that came with it before I slathered my legs with the pink Veet 5 Minute Hair Removal Cream using the green spatula that came with it.

The cream smelled a bit like ammonia. Not really pleasant but not overpowering. I was a bit worried at first, but I had tried it on my inner elbow (as instructed), and there was no reaction from my skin. No tingle, no burning...

Being a good girl, I timed myself. The instructions said to keep the cream on for five minutes or more, but no more than ten, so I listened to one and a half songs on my phone before I tried to use the spatula to see if my leg hair would peel off.

It didn't. Not all of them. It didn't peel off after eight minutes, or after ten either. The box did say that "the time the cream takes to work depends on the thickness of the hair". Does that mean my leg hair is THAT thick? So I just scraped off the cream, rinsed my legs, and repeated the process all over again. Second time's the charm, looks like, as I was delighted to see tiny hairs just cling to the spatula.

I wasn't very happy with the results at first after I rinsed my legs for the second time. My skin wasn't as smooth and silky as I hoped it would be, and there were parts of my legs that the cream didn't remove the hair at all. Those parts I had to redo despite the warning not to use the cream again until after 72 hours. You also can't swim or sunbathe about 24 hours after using the cream. Which begs the question, what's the point of using it when you shave because you don't want to look like Sasquatch in the summer.

But after consideration, I figured it WAS better than shaving. It's been a few days and, although the hair has started to grow back, it's not as prickly as when I shave. It's not itchy either, and I didn't nick myself. Look, ma! No razors!

So yes, I'm recommending it as a quick time (and money... and pain) saver. I'm planning on using what remained of the 25g tube I have later, and I hope I get it right this time.

I still want to try getting my legs waxed though.

One of my greatest frustrations in life is not being able to wear heels... that is, if I want to get to where I need to go on my own two legs. Thanks to Sex and the City, I've developed a fascination for shoes and bags. And although I'm able to get myself lots of bags (since I'm not very particular about brand), the shoes are a little more complicated. The handbag just needs to hang on my arm. My life could depend on my shoes. I have this little problem of finding it difficult to navigate a flat surface in sneakers so stiletto heels are life-threatening.

The H. Stern Zephyr Ring

I love accessories. Rings, bracelets, bangles, earrings, but I hardly wear the real deal. I think I may have lost 75% of my inheritance in the form of my grandmother's jewelry, so I try to stay away from the expensive ones and stick with costume. But that doesn't mean I don't dream of owning real jewelry.

I've always worn a ring for as long as I can remember, but I have a penchant for unusual rings such as the H. Stern Zephyr ring with its twisting bands of gold encrusted with diamonds, 228 of them glittering little darlings.

I love Greek mythology, and this being named "Zephyr" after the Greek god of the west wind. The twists and turns embody the blowing of the wind, I guess, and I like how it looks like. The number of diamonds ain't something to sneeze at either.

Juicy Couture Fluffy Shoulder Bag

Juicy Couture is one of my favorite handbag designers. Their Filipino counterpart could be Heartstrings, and I love their cute designs too.

Anyway, I was doing some research for my blogging job when I came across this adorable Juicy Couture Fluffy Shoulder bag from Net-a-Porter. What I like about this bag? 1) It's Juicy Couture, 2) it's purple, and 3) it's roomy with dimensions at 8"x9"x18". I love big bags because I can't seem to get out of the house without bringing most everything I own with me. Okay, exaggeration, but I do bring a lot of things like books and notebooks, phone, big-@ssed wallet, iPod (which has his own little wristlet), the equivalent of a kikay kit, and anything else that catches my fancy. So I do need a big, roomy bag.

This one really seems practical and pretty, plus it has all the pockets I want in one bag. I want one. The Juicy Couture Fluffy Shoulder bag costs $375 though, a little (okay, a lot) too steep for me.

Blackberry & Cream Shower Gel from Rustan's

My tita Doc (ie, my aunt who's a doctor) gave my parents a Blackberry & Cream-scented shower gel and lotion set from Rustan's Department Store, and I hijacked the huge bottle of shower gel. Love shower gels. I have a few favorite scents, and this became one of them. It smells delicious. I took twice as much time in the bathroom, just lathering up and enjoying the smell.

I have no idea how much this costs, since it's a gift, and it's tasteless to leave the price tag on a gift, but I might pass by Rustan's one of these days just to snoop around so I know how much I need to shell out for a bottle of it. I haven't tried the lotion part yet, but really, this smells really yummy.

Brazilian, Anyone?: Lay-Bare Waxing Salon

As a kid, I loved jeans and was rarely out of it. I only owned about one skirt that was not part of my school uniform. I wore my first short, not-school-uniform skirt when I was around sixteen when we had a mock job application and interview at school in preparation for college. That was the time when I finally noticed (and cared) that my legs looked like the legs of a male basketball player. After that, I started shaving my legs, and hasn't stopped since. I haven't stopped being annoyed by having to, either.

While surfing the net for something to write about, I started chatting with my buddy, Kat over YM and, as any good topic, we started talking about one thing that led to another, until we ended up talking about getting our legs (and other body parts) waxed. She sent me a link that led me to Lay-Bare, a waxing salon in the Philippines.

I've always been curious about getting waxed. Now, I'm a late bloomer when it comes to things like fashion and girly girl things. I can't put make-up on to save my life, and I can't walk on heels (which is something I want to write about too, but that's a different story). So I wondered about it for quite sometime, and only got really encouraged to do it when a friend from my previous work talked about it.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of shaving vs. waxing?

Waxing removes hair from the root which means those irritating unwanted hair would be gone for four to six weeks before you need to get waxed again. It's more expensive, of course, as it's rather difficult to wax yourself so you need the services of a professional. And not to mention the pain, oh, the pain!

Shaving only requires a good razor, and shaving cream, and you can do it right in the bathroom. Except that the hair grows before you can make the next swipe with the razor and you get nicks, cuts and ugly razor burns.

Hmm.

Let me start this article by saying, no, I don't want to buy a pair of these. But if you were window-shopping, you'd find the strangest of things.

This, apparently, is a dual ~~hell~~ heel shoes designed by Alexander McQueen. I like thongs and flip flops, and although I don't believe in Havaianas, I also dream of getting myself a pair in the future... if I find a design worth it. I wouldn't say no to a nice pair of heels though, but this is *slowly shakes head* reaaally interesting, in respect to Alexander McQueen, who has designed some really nice handbags.

Did he actually get someone to wear these on stage? I'm sorry, I think they're quite... dangerous. I mean, stilettos are dangerous, but these are... well, the words escape me.

Twilight Edward Body Shimmer from Hot Topic

I kid you not.

In high school, I had a small pot of pink body shimmer that I never used. At least, on my body. I think I used it to decorate my numerous notebooks since I like glittering things. Then I found this from Hot Topic: the Twilight Edward Body Shimmer. Okay, I should have known the Cullens' glow and glitter would bring things like this about.

The body shimmer is said to add "subtle shimmer to your body with this iridescent powder". So there. I think what would make the die-hard Twilighters scurrying to get this is the image of Edward on the clear container.

Interesting. I hope this would give me a better glitter than the one in the Twilight movie. I was a bit miffed when the glitter part wasn't... all that dazzling. Then again, how much were they given for special effects? Like, $10?

Twilight-inspired Canvas Tote from Lollypops

My body clock just went back to the night shift *blech* but earlier, I was only too happy to have been still awake at 10 a.m. (after twenty hours of wakefulness) when the delivery guy dropped by with a package for me. I finally got my Twilight-inspired canvas tote bag from lollypops.

I love canvas totes. They're just so simple, convenient, and a lot of them have great designs from very talented artists as well as creative statements. When I got my tote, I loved it... but I have to be honest that I was a bit disappointed the first time I pulled it out of the plastic LBC bag.

It was smaller than I anticipated, and the design I chose was a little too bare, since it was originally for a shirt. I figured that the other statements would have looked better on the bag. The "I have OED: Obsessive Edward Disorder" design looked better because the fonts were bigger, bolder and had more color, plus the words fill the front of the bag. And I'm a bit regretful that I didn't get the "Mrs. Edward Cullen" design ha ha But I've grown to love the bag I got and I can't wait to use it when I go off to the mall tomorrow.

Anyway, I got the "Boyfriend Requirements" design, which is printed on the front of the bag. At the top center of the back of the tote is the word Twilight. On the inside is the adorable lollypops logo.

Mulberry Ostrich Bayswater Bag

Another one in my Bag-Wish-List is the Mulberry Ostrich Bayswater Bag (which is currently sold out from Net-a-Porter). I'm more of the leather or canvas bag type of person, and I've never owned an animal skin... okay, so I think I remember owning a snakeskin bag when I was young, but that's not my point. Anyway, the Bayswater bag is ostrich, and sturdy and in this purple shade, flashes itself on my top three *sigh*

I love black and blue bags, but purple is one of my favorite colors. Sadly, I don't have a purple bag. If I had a fairy godmother or I'm in Santa Claus' extended list, I'd ask for one of these, considering that it costs $3,995 *gasp* Also, it comes in other pretty colors like mint green, and a shade of light blue. Check out my entry on the pink version on hrhandbags. The pink version has silver hardware while this purple has gold. I still love silver more though, but I don't mind whatever tone hardware they use.

I've read somewhere that people are saying that the shape of this bag looks too much like the Hermes Birkin, and looks like it, but I like this one more. I think it has more character than the Birkin. The Birkin bags really don't make it to my top five list. It's too... Victoria Beckham for me.

Tory Burch Thora Metallic Logo Thong

I love snooping around online stores (obviously) but one of my favorites is Neiman Marcus. They always have gorgeous women things. I haven't tried to shop there, and I hope I don't really start because I might get addicted and I'm going through a lean time right now, but I love window shopping...

Anyway, I was watching E! yesterday and saw some Tory Burch products, and I figured I could look into it. I've written a few entries about Tory Burch handbags, so I went to Neiman Marcus to snoop around for some. I didn't find the bag they had featured, but I did find this Tory Burch Thora Metallic Logo Thong and fell in lust.

I haven't worn shoes... real shoes, and not Converse, in a long time. I always wear flipflops and thongs, and this one is just gorgeous in its simplicity. It comes in silver or gold leather, with a stacked heel, rubber sole and leather lining. Sure, sure, there are more stylish and less expensive thongs, but I really like this one. Maybe because of the Tory Burch logo too. Hmm, maybe it's time for me to go get new footwear. There are a whole lot of them at the mall, after all. None of them Tory Burch, but a few that could pass.

Ring from Color Stone

I've always worn a ring for as long as I can remember. My high school best friend gave me a silver dolphin ring and I've always worn that. A couple of months ago, I was with my family at Robinson's Galleria when I caught sight of a stall called Color Stone. They have a collection of pretty, shiny things, and I easily get attracted to things that glitters. There were so many of them. Rings, earrings, bracelets, hair combs, everything that are made of shiny and pretty stones.

I saw a tiny silver ring with four purple stones arranged to form butterfly wings. There was an owl, lots of flowers, a turtle and a frog. I picked this oval ring out because it looked exactly like the ring I was writing about in a fan fiction that I was hurrying to finish at that time. What I like about it is the jumble of shapes and colors. I like order. I can be OC, but I like the mixture of shapes and colors too.

My ring has eleven colored stones (I'm not sure if they're glass or Swarovski, that I have to ask), set on an oval face. It's adjustable too, so you don't have to worry it won't fit. I had to stop myself at one, because there were a lot of beautiful things in there. This one costs P350, and is actually really cool.

Owl Necklace from Earthly Delights

I watched Where You At on Myx the other day and saw their feature on Earthly Delights in Trinoma. I like neckpieces, specifically cute ones and was immediately sucked in when they featured limited edition, hand-painted necklaces with pictures of adorable Japanese-inspired and anime drawings. I recently developed a fondness for owls because of my stories that center on the Greek goddess, Athena, who considers owls as her sacred animal. Currently, my owl collection is meager: a couple of owl bookmarks and an owl keychain. I couldn't find a decent looking stuffed owl anywhere, but it hasn't stopped me from trying. And I was delighted to find this little gem, from Earthly Delights.

Unfortunately, they only make one piece of each design, and this design has already been sold *dang!* But no matter, I'm sure I'll find more owl designs. Maybe I could drag my friend to Trinoma again, and see more designs. I'm sure I could pick one up, being addicted to these sort of things. I did see a real cute tote bag too, and tote bags are my next target...

Which reminds me, I can't wait to receive the Twilight tote bag I ordered, also over Multiply. I'd most definitely write about that too when I finally receive the bag. I love online shopping. I find a lot of adorable things that are one of a kind, and it's so convenient, and addictive.

Come to think of it, I have no idea whether to be disappointed or not that this owl necklace has already been sold... Ü

Wishes in a Bag

I do love bags, but I'm not a bag connoisseur. Give me a sturdy no-name backpack anytime. But since working on a bag blog and being exposed to the different gorgeous bags out there in the market today, I understand, just a little, why people spend oodles of cash for these bags. I've written about Coach and Prada and Louis Vuitton, and everyday I find something fascinating about these works of art. I found two in particular that I would love, love, love to get my hands on. Just two so far, and I just have to write about them in my personal blog because they're gorgeous!

Louis Vuitton Watercolor Aquarelle Speedy
The first that caught my eye is the limited edition Louis Vuitton Watercolor Aquarelle Speedy 30. The colors are girly, fun and flirty, and I think it looks very beautiful with the pinks and purples, very girly. The LV monogram actually has a real watercolor effect which I really like about this bag. But I'm only going to have to dream about it because it sells for a whopping $1,270 (almost 60,000Php) at the LV website *sigh* But it's really pretty.

Prada Fairy Bag
My other eye candy bag (and the one I really want) has got to be the Prada Fairy Bag. It looks like a little girl's dream with doodles and drawings and dreams! It's very light and dreamy. I think it's just stunning and I love the prints. This one, however, sells for the also stunning price of $2290 (or more that 100,000Php) *wahahaha*

Again, I'll just stick with my backpack :p But it would sure be so cool to have either one of them *dreams*
